One of Iowa City Public Library’s (ICPL) best services is making a comeback this summer — the Bookmobile! The Bookmobile carries a collection of new and popular books, as well as DVDs. Any book that belongs in ICPL’s collection can be checked out by placing a hold and requesting a pickup at the Bookmobile.

The Bookmobile will travel around Iowa City and surrounding areas until August 20. Those who wish to go onto the Bookmobile may do so to browse for books for five minutes at a time. Masks and social distancing will be required.

Coffee is a great mood-booster, but Chris James and his 11-year-old pug, Sooshie, are spreading smiles with more than just their coffee. James’ business, Buffalo Brew Coffee Roasting, hand-delivers its coffee to customers in the Des Moines area from the back of James’ bicycle.

In addition to the coffee beans, James loads up Sooshie into a compartment in the back. Sooshie is blind and has trouble moving her hind legs, but she loves the attention customers give her, as well as the chance to be outside and enjoy the summer weather.

“Getting outdoors, enjoying the sunshine, being with Sooshie, waving to the neighbors. It’s a great time!” James said. Those interested in picking up a bag or two can find more info on Buffalo Brew Coffee Roasting’s Roastmaster Collection page.
